STORYTELLING
TWINBROOK TELLERS
From the Dogwood Dogs 4H Club
Bark! Bark! Do Art and Tell Tales!

The Twinbrook Tellers tell tales of magic and adventure to enchant and entertain children of all ages.

Time: 1:00 to 2:00 | Location: Children’s Stage Area, Fawcett St. at Howard Ave

The Twinbrook Tellers are children who tell stories. We tell tall-tales, folktales, literary stories, real-life adventures, and stories we make up ourselves. All our storytelling is done orally, from memory or imagination, without props or books in hand.

The Twinbrook Tellers began as Storyellers’ Club at the Twinbrook Community Library in Rockville, MD, in the fall of 2001. In 2003 the Twinbrook Tellers began telling stories at local libraries, and made their debut at the Glen Echo Folk Festival in 2003. When budget cuts caused the library to give up support of our club in 2010, the Dogwood Dogs 4H Community Club of Montgomery County, MD, took on a storytelling project and gave a new home to the Twinbrook Tellers.

Our storytellers range in age from about 8-18. Children from the Twinbrook Tellers have been invited to tell stories at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN., at the National Youth Storytelling Showcase in Pigeon Forge, TN, and most recently at the National Youth Storytelling Showcase in Orem, UT. The Twinbrook Tellers are members of Voices In The Glen (voicesintheglen.org). Two of our members are currently storytelling members of Voices In The Glen.

The Twinbrook Tellers have performed at
  • The Folklore Society of Greater Washington (FSGW) fsgw.org Folk Festival at Glen Echo, MD
  • The FSGW MidWinter MiniFest
  • Kensington Day of the Book Festival
  • The Montgomery County, MD, Harvest Festival
  • The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival
  • The Maryland Fairie Festival
  • Medieval Faire at Marietta House
