Time: 12:00 - 2:00 | Location: In front of Prevention of Blindness 3716 Howard Ave
The ATOMIC Swing Club is D.C.'s most energetic, compelling, and exciting swing band. The music is a diverse, perky mix of swing, rockabilly, big band, lounge, and jazz with a rockin' edge !! The band brings alive the savvy, swinging vibe that made the swing music of the 30's through to the 50's so very popular but adds an explosive edge which is very engaging to all audiences."
Eli August & The Abandoned Buildings
www.eliaugust.com | Facebook
Time: 2:00-2:45 | Location: Location: Howard Ave. at Armory Ave
Eli August & The Abandoned Buildings are a Baltimore, MD and NYC based Chamber Folk ensemble that plays dark and melodic heartfelt tunes.
The music of Eli August is akin to the waters of a great river. It’s always moving and pushing forward, whether through percussive guitar and banjo, or the urgency of delicately crafted lyrics; the music never looks back. The Dark Americana music is, at its roots, devoted to romantics and those who reflect upon their days with a certain longing for the past.
Whether solo, or along with the Abandoned Buildings, Eli will have you tapping your foot, singing along and reminiscing of your own long ago journeys.

Times: 11:15-11:30, 11:45-12:00 | Location: Howard Ave. at Armory Ave
Featuring music by
Michael Winch, Patrick Armstrong, Jesse Winch, and Kieran Whelan

Jesse Winch, like his younger brother Terence, was born and raised in the Bronx of Irish immigrant parents. He is the former cathaoirleach (chairman; pronounced "cahir-lock") of the Washington Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, the international organization of traditional Irish musicians. Jesse, a founding member of Celtic Thunder, the Bog Wanderers Ceili Band, and the Irish Inn Mates, plays bodhrán (Irish drum; pronounced "bow-ron"), guitar, bouzouki, and harmonica, and has recorded widely with many notable musicians. In May of 2012, Jesse was inducted into the CCE Hall of Fame.

Michael Winch - Terry’s son and Jesse's nephew - is a recent graduate of UMBC, where he majored in music and audio engineering. He has studied fiddle with some of the best players in Irish music, including Brendan Mulvihill, Liz and Yvonne Kane, Tony DeMarco, Brian Conway, Patrick Ourceau, and Mitch Fanning. Michael also plays bodhran and bouzouki. He is a former member of Bog Band and has performed as a guest of Narrowbacks and other bands.

Patrick Armstrong - novelist Alice McDermott’s son - is a notable young player of the uillean (pronounced "ill-in") pipes and the flute. Currently an undergraduate at Fordham University’s Manhattan campus, Patrick has become a respected player in Irish music circles in New York and the Washington/Baltimore area. For the past several years, Michael and Patrick have played together as the “house band” at the Sewanee Writers Conference in Tennessee.
