Doris Justis returns to Day of the Book with special guest, Sean McGhee in their duo, SIDE BY SIDE. The duo celebrated their 25th Anniversary in 2009! Their close vocal harmonies and guitars back their original songs and interpretations of the best songwriters. The duo has shared the stage with the Chad Mitchell Trio, Bill Danoff, Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary, Schooner Fare, Tom Paxton and many others. They have appeared at the Birchmere, Kennedy Center, Starland Cafe and the list goes on. Both Doris and SIDE BY SIDE have performed at the Town of Kensington's Summer Concert Series and at the Garrett Park Town Hall. Together and separately, there are nine recordings.

Art Harrison

Art Harrison is a DC based musician who performs on the theremin. Theremins are distinguished by the fact that they are played without the performer touching the instrument. The musician moves his or her hands in proximity to the theremin to control the tone of the sound.
Steven Gellman

Steven Gellman is a singer/songwriter from Germantown, MD. His original music spans five independent releases and has garnered local and national praise. Billboard Magazine hails Gellman’s music as "intensely sensitive and impressively intelligent at the same time.” Gellman has performed at acclaimed venues such as the Birchmere and Club Passim and has opened for the likes of Dar Williams, Cheryl Wheeler and others.
