Settlement House
www.settlementhouse.us

"What an honorable fraternity exists among really fine poems, even if that fraternity consists of a multitude of disparate personalities and voices."
Settlement House Books is an independent book publisher founded in 2007. We take our name from the settlement houses of the late 19th and 20th centuries that provided community through their social and cultural support and services to the urban poor and immigrant populations. We think of ourselves as a home for some of the fine—and frequently disparate—poetic voices deserving of readership but often ignored in publishing today. Our mission is to publish poetry that is a haven for others and a place where all who enter can find clarity and wonder. We also seek to build an audience for the good work of the writers we publish, some of whom you might already know and others whose voices until now have been mostly unheard.

Tuxedo Press
www.tuxedo-press.com

Tuxedo Press is a small press whose early offerings relate to Carlisle Indians School and its legendary football teams. Our biography of Lone Star Dietz should be of particular interest to Kensington residents who are Redskins fans. Our reprints of Pop Warner’s single-wing trilogy may be of practical use to football coaches in the community.
